The Farm and Nature Discovery School provides experiences for children ages 3 to 6 from September to May. We provide a supportive, nurturing, and exciting environment not only for our students, but our faculty, as well. We expand our classrooms into our natural world as much as possible, escaping to the great outdoors to learn!
We are located right next to The Children’s Farm on 60 acres of beautiful land. Not only do we have a variety of outdoor spaces to explore, we also get to visit the farm animals!
Our curriculum is inspired by Reggio Emilia and encourages learning through play in nature and with natural materials. Our teachers work hands one while guiding our students through structured activities and playing along side them in open ended activities.

SUBSTITUTE
Substitutes have the opportunity to step in when they are needed, but are not committed to a specific schedule. This is an on-call, as needed position. Substitutes fill in for roles that they are qualified for. To read more about each position qualifications, click the job description links above. VOLUNTEER
Do you have a love for working with children but don’t want the commitment of a fixed schedule? Do you have a specific skill or interest that children can learn and benefit from? Are you interested in just popping in to help out in a classroom? Then submit a form to become a volunteer! We can chat about ways you can spend your time with us and help us out. Volunteers must submit to fingerprinting, as well as a state and federal background check. If you volunteer more than once a month, you will need a completed staff file that hits all DCFS requirements. Parent volunteers who volunteer no more than once a month do not need to complete the fingerprinting process. Submit your application here!
