About Our School

The Farm & Nature Discovery School at The Center is a Christian based school that provides children ages 3 through 6 the unique opportunity to attend school on a 60-acre farm. Our highly qualified and trained teachers guide our students to learn through exploration of their natural environment while also reaching toward the developmentally appropriate milestones outlined in The Illinois Early Learning Standards.

Our school was started in 2003 on the premise that children should learn while surrounded by nature. The school started its first year in a small log cabin with 34 students. In 2005, our current building was constructed on our farm in close proximity to the barn and working farm so that children could have the opportunity to interact not only with our natural environment, but also with the farm animals.

We are dedicated to the development of the whole child. Environmental education is integrated in to the curriculum which addresses each child’s individual needs and uniqueness. An appreciation of the natural environment, practicing Christian values, and a working farm are the framework of our program.
